Hank & Jean

Jean and Hank currently live in Boston in the South End where they enjoy walking to do their errands and riding bikes along the Charles River. They recently learned about the Belfast Cohousing community by serendipity (or not…) and are captivated about returning to nature and living closer to the land.

Jean grew up in Wyoming and Colorado and loves both the mountains and the ocean. She is an avid sailor and can’t wait to explore Penobscot Bay by sailboat! Jean is currently a pediatric speech language pathologist in an acute care medical setting. Poetry, sunsets and trees are some of her top favorites. Her first job after graduate school in San Diego was in Bangor, Maine in 1983, so Belfast will be coming full circle!

While Hank’s early years were in California, New England’s vivid ruggedness has been his “place” since. He enjoys winter camping, the “view” from mountain tops, and two wheeled vehicles. Hank has been a small business owner/general contractor/carpenter for over 30 years. He is presently the project manager for a Buddhist retreat center in New Hampshire.

Jean and Hank share a love of poetry and meditation. They are involved in the meditation sangha at their UU church as well as a local Tibetan sitting group. They have both participated in workshops for NVC (non-violent communication) and value empathic approaches to communication. They like creating connections and are looking forward to participating in community with their new neighbors at Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage!
